This is my favorite book.
Before becoming my favorite, The Odyssey by Homer held first pace in my heart. I still dearly love Homer's work. Yet, I've read Pyle's masterwork over and over, perhaps, more than any other book because of its soothing effect. It is good - good in the sense that it is virtuous, pure, noble, attuned to Nature, things that seem to become more and more rare in this our ignoble society. Pyle knows the man Robin Hood from which this nobility lives and breaths becoming my trusted friend.
Yes, Pyle possess the ability to lead me deep through the forest paths unto that very culture of Anglo-Saxon England where we behold it living yet again. Pyle welcomes me there whenever I feel down or uncertain. It is a place that calms my fears, settles my heart. Robin bucks up my courage and soon I am not so bad - I can laugh with some heartiness like those goodly rogues who loved Robin to the last drop of blood.
Pyle's superior intellect is effortlessly exhibited in this masterwork. Indeed, effortlessly flowing, yet spectacular with intricacy, which might indicate that it was written while attuned to meta-mental creativity; for, only by this means could such brilliance sparkle.

I liked the action and adventure. The more I read the more interested I became. I recommend this book to everybody.
I've heard lots of stories about robin hood, tv shows etc, and was never sure which ones were real. Reading this set me straight one some things I've wondered about! LOVED IT!
Read this book as a teen,, it was good then and still is. It will bring you back to the days of old
